* Thrifty fuel economy; low price for a hybrid. Source: Edmunds
* While its fuel-economy figures are less astounding than those posted by the Toyota Prius, the 2013 Honda Insight is still a gas-sipping wonder. And its price of entry is not so steep that buyers have to wonder if theyâll live to see the payback in gasoline savings. Source: KBB.com

Reliable and a Good Value
By jymetcalf | on Saturday, December 07, 2019
Yes, this is a small budget hybrid. Don't expect Impala level ride, space and power. I bought my 2010 in 2010 with 5,800 miles on it. In the succeeding 9 years, I've put more than 170,000 miles on this car with very little additional cost beyond basic maintenance. My gas mileage (one of the primary reasons most people buy a hybrid) has peaked at 50mpg, and been as low as 33mpg (in a cold winter with snow tires.) I would say that the lifetime average is safely at the 41mpg advertised. I do run snow tires to survive Michigan winters—the car is light and slips easily with the low resistance summer tires. Good snow tires make it a worthy winter ride. I have an aftermarket Tule rack with accessories including a cargo box. With the box I'm able to carry all but the biggest loads. The hatch, especially with the rear seats down, has plenty of volume for most needs. Rear visibility isn't the best with the large c-pillars and lack of back-up camera (this was 2010.) Ride is somewhat noisy compared to newer cars, but the steering, braking and handling are sportier than they are luxurious. Power is adequate for a car that gets 40+mpg.… - 5.0
A quality, well-built car at a bargain price
By Richard | on Monday, October 12, 2020
A quality, well-built car at a bargain price. I bought this car new in 2011 and have driven all of the 150,000 miles on it. Everything on this car has held up well, with the exception of the conditioning compressor which was replaced at 100,000 miles. This car is remarkably frugal, getting between 42 and 45 miles per gallon on the road and in town. I have replace the brakes twice. I’ve had no significant mechanical or electrical problems, and I’ve never been stranded in the car due to a breakdown. I still have kept this car despite buying a newer, more comfortable car because the folding seats make it excellent for carrying larger items. I referred to it as “my truck”.All of this is exactly why I bought this Car and I am a very pleased owner.… - 5.0
SOLID Reliable car
By Car guy | on Thursday, July 18, 2019
Bought this car for my daughter with about 70kmi on it about 4 years ago. This car has been nothing less than amazing. Sure its not going to win any drag races and yes its a small car. That said it has ALLOT of room for such a small car. Also after 9 years original paint still shines and that's saying allot since its been in Florida outside all this time. Also my daughter drove it from Florida to California and back twice. Never had an issue with car brakes we super simple to replace. If you are looking for a reliable, well designed and cheap to run car this is it.…
